Curriculum Vitae

We want to get to know you and your unique story.

Cover letter

Tell us why YOU should be part of the European Forum Alpbach 2019 (approx. 1 page).

Creative Work

Share your thoughts about this year’s general topic “Fundamentals“ and let your creativity run wild – be below for more information.

Please also include study confirmations and admission records and/or work confirmations plus other relevant certificates. We just need to have proof that you’re eligible for our scholarships.

Creative Work

Your creative work might be a written, graphical, or cinematic piece, or any other form of creative expression. The only important thing is that this piece of work will deal intensively with the general topic of „Fundamentals“. Essays or other mandatory texts from your life as a student won’t be accepted, it has to be a piece of work exclusively made for this application (we all had to go through it).

Hint: We love to be surprised, amazed, and possibly even flabbergasted. It’s important for us to see that you’ve put thought and effort into this.

The recipients of the scholarships will be announced by the end of May. Club Alpbach Tirol only hands out full scholarships, this is why participation in the entire European Forum Alpbach is mandatory. All scholarship holders are invited to join the official scholarship award ceremony taking place in June. There the scholarship holders have the opportunity to get to know each other and receive important information about their time in Alpbach. Participation in the ceremony is mandatory. The Club Alpbach Tirol organizes the registration for the Forum Alpbach and the booking of accommodation. All scholarship holders are required to pay the Club Alpbach Tirol membership fee of 25 euros.

We’re really looking forward to your application!

Important Note

By sending us your application, you agree that we may use your personal data for the purpose of the scholarship selection process. You can, at any time, demand the rectification or the deletion of your data.

We don’t hand out scholarships for the summer schools which happen simultaneously in Alpbach. Scholarships for the summer schools are awarded by the European Forum Alpbach itself.

European Forum Alpbach

Since 1945, the European Forum Alpbach takes place every August in Alpbach, Tyrol, located in the center of the Alps and the heart of Europe. Each year, about 700 scholarship holders from over 90 nations get together to dive into a unique world of ideas, debates, and new friendships. These three weeks make up an intensive time for our scholarship holders, in which they will find many new contacts and opportunities for their future, as well as a substantially broadened horizon. The creed is: „Alpbach is what you make of it!“. We, the board members of the Club Alpbach Tirol, will be in Alpbach with you and help you as best as we can to get the most out of your time.

The schedule of the European Forum Alpbach is divided into two parts, comprising the seminar week on the one hand and various talks on the other hand. If you want to know more, check out the official EFA webpage. There you’ll find the current as well as last year’s schedule to give you an idea of what’s waiting for you.

Seminar Week

During the first part of the EFA, you’ll attend two courses and really dig into a topic. The seminars will be held by renowned experts and include topics such as politics, economics, medicine, education, or ethics. Besides seminars, you can also take part in one of the many workshops, which aim at improving your soft skills, broadening your horizon, and taking you out of your comfort zone. How about an acting course, held by students from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London? Here you can find the seminars for 2019.

Talks in Alpbach

The second part of the EFA consists of symposia on economics, finance, law, technology, politics and health. Each symposium lasts about two to three days and includes renowned speakers and experts getting together to share their knowledge and engage you in discussions.

Club Alpbach Tirol

We, the Club Alpbach Tirol, are part of the Forum Alpbach Network (FAN). Hence, we are involved in shaping the EFA and selecting scholarship holders. We were founded in 1999 and celebrated our 20th anniversary in 2019.

It’s due to the support of our sponsors and partners that we are able to allow students and Young Professionals to become part of the EFA – an amazing and unforgettable experience that allows scholarship holders to acquire interdisciplinary skills and broaden their horizon. We look forward to anyone who wants to share this experience with us. Our annual report (German only) for 2019 immerses you in the world of Club Alpbach Tirol and the European Forum Alpbach.

Bylaws are the heart of every association and provide framework conditions. Transparency is very important to us, and therefore everyone should have access to the bylaws of Club Alpbach Tirol. Click Here to download the statutes as pdf-file (German only).
